WUSC’s world-renowned Student Refugee Program (SRP) operates in over 100 campuses across Canada. Drawing on support to displaced students since the 1920s, WUSC is a recognized global leader in education in displacement contexts.

World Education Services (WES) is a non-profit social enterprise that supports the educational, economic, and social inclusion of refugees and other immigrants by evaluating credentials, shaping policy, designing inclusive programs and providing philanthropic funding.

4 / University of Winnipeg

The University of Winnipeg’s Global College has a specific mandate to address local and global challenges, including “the transition of new immigrants and refugees into Canadian society”.

5 / University of Ottawa

Leveraging the expertise of three key research centres - Human Rights Research and Education Centre; Centre for Research on Educational and Community Services; Center of Interdisciplinary Research on Citizenship and Minorities - as well as the Office of the Vice-Provost, Equity, Diversity and Inclusive Excellence, uOttawa will provide bilingual, interdisciplinary support to the strategic direction of the partnership.

Saint Mary’s University is a student-focused university in Nova Scotia with an explicit research focus on migration under their “Modern Global Citizenship” pillar.

7 / Research Nova Scotia Corporation 

Research Nova Scotia (RNS) initiated a Ukrainian Emergency Research Support program in 2022 and has a broader mandate to expand diverse opportunities for research and work in the province.

Laval University is a francophone institution situated in the Province of Quebec, which has specific approaches to education and immigration in the context of asymmetric federalism.

9 / Immigrant Services Society of BC

ISSofBC has, for over 50 years, provided settlement services, including connecting newcomers to training and employment and is one of the key immigration organizations in western Canada.

10 / Canadian Museum for Human Rights

The Canadian Museum of Human Rights (CMHR) has extensive experience in multimedia exhibitions and an up-stander in residence program for human rights defenders.

11 / Canadian Association for Refugee and Forced Migration Studies

CARFMS is a network of researchers with an explicit mandate to “establish active partnerships and collaborations among researchers, teachers, practitioners, policy makers and advocates”.

12 / Amnesty International Canada

Amnesty International is an internationally recognized research-grounded advocacy organization with a specific program for human rights researchers displaced to Canada.

13 / Access Alliance

Access Alliance has conducted research with newcomers for decades and runs a mentorship program for internationally trained health professionals.
